Bioluminescence 'Living light'. The dim, usually blue, light produced by many deep-sea animals. The light is sometimes produced by the animals themselves, and sometimes by bacteria living inside them.
This piece is very special, I am still shaking my head as to how I was able to capture this particular shade of blue/green, and I used tiny shells, sand, tiny rocks, netting, and tiny glass beads as is used in 'cat's eyes' on our roads to give it a very subtle glow. Lots and lots of texture, and the sides are painted raw umber. This painting can be easily hung in either direction.
