GOLD LEAF COLLAGE

One of the best things I ever did for myself was take sign up for a workshop with *PAT LAMBRECHT- HOULD*, at MOUNTAIN HAVEN ARTS, a wonderful artist hide-away in Mission B.C. Pat is an amazing artist who works with GOLD, SILVER & COPPER LEAF, and blends the acrylic paints with this medium to create the most amazing works of art. Learning her way of blending and blending one colour into the next, seeing the light pour in, was better than a free trip around the world. Well my brain will not stop thinking of new ones to start . When I see each new and exotic paper that I work with, my heart races faster.

Here are some of my pieces, working with all the same materials as she uses in hers, I hope to capture the light as it bounces off these fragile & mysterious metals.

One of the things that is hardest for me to do, is find a name for an abstract painting, well one of the first titles that came to mind when I finished the painting half way down, was "TWIST & SHOUT" ..of course the Beatles song...now almost every painting I do reminds me of one of their songs..so if you like the Beatles too, then my work might have a special meaning for you.

Each painting is done on a deep 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas, no need for framing, ready to hang, edges are painted black..well the ones so far are....
